Sam Bradley claimed his second national title of the meet, by claiming the 50m Butterfly in a new personal best of 36.83 seconds. Well done Sam!

Silver in Medley Relay for Harriet

Harriet Lee claimed her second medal of the IPC World Championships on the final day by collecting a silver in the 34pt Medley Relay. Swimming the breaststroke leg, the British team were narrowly touched out by the team from the USA.

Sam Bradley National Champion

Sam Bradley stormed to his first national title tonight in the 400m freestyle. Swimming in the S7 category he gained a total of 808 multi-disability points by finishing in a time of 5:14:08. The coaches and committee of MBSS would like to congratulate Sam on his outstanding success.

MBSS Coaches and committee would like to congratualte Sam Bradley on his Bronze medal that he picked up in the SB6 100m Breaststroke at the British Gas ASA National Championships. Sam swam a time of 1.39.88.

Harriet Lee World Champion!

MBSS coaches and committee would like to offer our congratulations to Harriet Lee who has been crowned IPC World Champion in the SB9 100m Breaststroke. Harriet swam a time of 1.19.86 to claim the title at the World Championships in Eindhoven, Holland. She also set a new world record of 37.32 at the 50m split.

Monday 6th September Normal training timetable resumes including morning training at both sites.

Thank you to all members who helped to collect 3850 sainsburys vouchers. We will be using these to buy land training equipment for the swimmers.

20 qualifiers for Nationals

Mid Beds SS will be taking it’s largest ever contingent of swimmers to nationals in 2010. 20 swimmers have qualified in one or more events, making a 40% qualification rate from the squad. Swimmers are: Nathan Hughes. (too young to attend), George Catterall, Eleanor Wase, Jessica Jackson, Chris Murphy, Tom Lambert, David Allen, Caleb Hughes, Aydin Berki, Harriet Brettle, Alice Marchant, Katie Tavener, Alasdair Kerr, Amber Swales, Lawrence Palmer, Shauna Lee, Jessica Karp, Yasmin Bithrey, Sam Bradley & Harriet Lee.
The coaches and committee at MBSS would like to congratulate all swimmers and wish them good luck at their specific championship.

Great East Swim

Congratulations to Aydin Berki who finished 9th in the elite race. Alice Marchant swam in the general heats but swam a faster time than 4 of the elite race at the open water festival in the Olton Resevoir in Ipswich.
Special congratulations to Peter Marchant and Simon Barker who also completed the swim.
