Thank you to all members who helped to collect 3850 sainsburys vouchers. We will be using these to buy land training equipment for the swimmers.

Mid Beds SS will be taking it’s largest ever contingent of swimmers to nationals in 2010. 20 swimmers have qualified in one or more events, making a 40% qualification rate from the squad. Swimmers are: Nathan Hughes. (too young to attend), George Catterall, Eleanor Wase, Jessica Jackson, Chris Murphy, Tom Lambert, David Allen, Caleb Hughes, Aydin Berki, Harriet Brettle, Alice Marchant, Katie Tavener, Alasdair Kerr, Amber Swales, Lawrence Palmer, Shauna Lee, Jessica Karp, Yasmin Bithrey, Sam Bradley & Harriet Lee.
The coaches and committee at MBSS would like to congratulate all swimmers and wish them good luck at their specific championship.

Congratulations to Aydin Berki who finished 9th in the elite race. Alice Marchant swam in the general heats but swam a faster time than 4 of the elite race at the open water festival in the Olton Resevoir in Ipswich.
Special congratulations to Peter Marchant and Simon Barker who also completed the swim.

The coaches, committee and swimmers at MBSS would like to congratulate Sam Bradley on winning a Bronze medal at the German Open last week. Sam won a bronze in the 100m Breaststroke

Mid Beds SS had a fantastic second weekend at the East region bagcat championships finishing second in the medal table with 40 medals. The swimmers amassed 23 Golds, 12 Silvers and 5 Bronzes during the two weekends. We now have 20 national qualifiers for 2010 making this our most successful season by far!

Mid Beds SS have had an outstanding first weekend at the regional bagcats in Norwich with lots of personal best performances, 5 new national times and have totalled a second position in the medal table so far with 12 Gold medals, 9 Silver medals and 2 Bronzes! Well done to all and keep the effort up for next week!

Simon Barker and Pete Marchant are hoping to raise some money for the club. They will be taking part in the Great East Swim in Alton Reservoir on June 19th and the Great London Swim on July 3rd; both are one mile open water swims. If you are able to sponsor them then they would be very pleased to take your money on behalf of the club and provide some much needed funds in the process! You can pledge money via the club web site by following the link or by pledging money directly to them at the pool before the events.
